Interstellar

Welcome to Interstellar, a mod that allows you to traverse the universe! Well, just the Moon, Mars, and Venus right now, but there are plans!

Luna

Luna, more commonly known as the Moon, can be traveled to in these sort of realm crossover biomes, the Lunized Wastes, where moon dust is dropped from the Moon and piles up on the ground.

The Portal

You make a lunar portal like a nether portal, except you use compacted moon dust instead of obsidian, and Lunite instead of Flint and Steel.

Suffocation

Watch out! Setting foot on Luna can be deadly without a lunite space suit! Lunite can be found underground in the Lunized Wastes or under Luna itself. Once you have crafted the armor, you are free to traverse the low-grav environment of Luna!

Temperature

Of course, since the Moon has no atmosphere, it has extreme temperature swings! To protect yourself from burning to a crisp or becoming a human icicle, you'll need TempKote®! Slap that stuff on your helmet and you'll have a fully conditioned space-suit! Now you're ready for anything Luna throws at you!

Mars

1.1.1 is here and Mars is ready to be explored! If you want to take on this new challenge, read well!

The Portal

Unlike Luna, Mars doesn't have any sort of crossover biome. So how do you get there? It's simpler than it seems. You'll need about 91 iron ingots. Craft all but 1 into blocks and smelt them to oxidize them. Once that's done, make the portal frame. To ignite the portal, smelt the remaining iron ingot twice to make Iron Oxide Dust, and sprinkle that onto the portal to light it up!

Suffocation

Much like Luna, Mars has very little oxygen. However, it does have a bit, which means you have about 2.4x longer before you meet your fate in space. But, nonetheless, you still need a Lunite spacesuit.

Temperature

Mars's temperature swings aren't too different from Luna's, except colder. Get that TempKote®, and good luck!

Venus

1.2.1 has dropped! Venus is now available for exploration! This one's a little harsher than the rest, so beware!

The Portal

Much like Mars, Venus's portal is made from a vanilla block: basalt. Yes, I know, you have to go to the Nether... again. But, it is well worth it. You also need Scorched Flint and Steel to ignite the portal (obtained by smelting Flint and Steel)

Suffocation

Unlike the others, you only have a brief 6.25 seconds before perishing on Venus due to its thick, crushing carbon dioxide atmosphere, so good luck exploring Venus without a suit!

Temperature

Venus is the hottest planet yet, at 464°C (867°F for those who can't read metric)! So, you'll definitely need a TempKoted® spacesuit! It's so hot that water easily boils, so good luck cooling off (you're smart, you'll find a way)

Navigation

Venus's thick atmosphere creates heavy "fog", so it's easy to get lost or turned around. Make sure you always know where you're going! Leave a block trail or something, idk.

Resources

Remember when I said it was all worth it? On Venus, a gem called Venite is very abundant. It is around 4.1x as powerful as netherite and 3.17x as fast as gold. It can be used for tools and a spacesuit. It is a natural insulator as well, so you don't need that TempKote® anymore!

Recommended/Required Mods

There are many mods that tie this experience together. Astrocraft is required, because it looks really cursed without it! Sinytra Connector is also required to attach these mods together. However, Sinytra Connector is not compatible with the version this mod is on (ahem Sinytra...) so it's going to look pretty cursed until either I find out how to edit the skybox, or Sinytra needs to get their mods up to date. And finally, Tough as Nails is highly recommended, to tie together the climate experience.
