This mod requires Geckolib 4.7 or higher

Fauna & Orchestra is a Neoforge mod that adds 5 new animals to Minecraft! You will find them in different biomes, with the catch is these aren't normal creatures! They're naturally drawn to music, so in order to tame them you will have to craft musical instruments and play them. If they're interested in you, you'll be able to tame them and they'll play music for you if you give them an instrument!

Don't forget that every good orchestra needs a conductor and a sheet music to play! Explore the world and find all these creatures, craft their musical instruments and you'll be able to make your own orchestra!

You'll find information in every instrument about which animals are drawn to their sound. Also, you can craft a magical briefcase and take up to 5 musical animals with you!

The Musicians (and how to adopt them):

Mantis

Giant Mantises have inhabited the Mangroove Swamps! Don't worry, they're harmless: unless you hurt them or are near them at night. They're very territorial animals!

However, if you happen to play the violin near them, some might be interested in your sound!

Baby Penguin

If you happen to wander in most snowy biomes, you might find these little Penguins! They're baby emperor penguins, so they love being around other animals. They might even wave at you with lots of happiness!

The might be babies, but did you know emperor penguins are naturally drawn to the flute sound? Try to play it near them!

Red Panda

Red Pandas, just like their bigger black and white siblings, usually live in Bamboo Forests. You might find a couple on regular Jungle Forests (though it's quite rate). They love to wander around, stare at other animals. If they get tired of walking on four, they might even stand up for a while!

These little animals usually love percusion. If you happen to have a keytar, some of them might stop and listen to you!

Macaw

If you take a look at the skies when you're walking through a Jungle Forest, you might see something new: these aren't just parrots, they're Macaws! They love flying around, usually in flocks.

You should try to get near them and play the double bass... They may be small, but you'd be surprised by how well they play it!

The Conductor (and how to tame it):

Quirky Frog

There are tons of frogs in Minecraft, but have you ever happened to encounter these Quirky Frogs? Unlike their siblings, they like to jump around a lot in Swamps. However, you might find some in rivers too!

These creatures are nature's best conductors! However, you won't be able to notice until they start to sing together. These frogs, usually in groups of five, like to sing together sometimes. One of them will conduct the choir, and if you happen to have a baton with you, they'll happily join you!

Tamed Quirky Frogs have a special menu if you right-click them. You can adjust the volume, toggle particles and give them the selected sheet music so they can conduct an orchestra. If you want to take the baton from them, you can shift + right-click them.

The Instruments and Items (and how to craft them):

For all of these instruments you can use any kind of wood as long as they're the right type (log, planks...)
All instruments are played with right-click.

Violin

Flute

Keytar

Double Bass

Baton

Batons have extra functions:

  • Right-click a conductor in a frog choir to give them the baton and tame them.
  • Right-click a musician and then a block to make them go to said block. A great alternative to pushing them around!

Briefcase

Briefcases are very useful to store musicians and conductors from one place to another:

  • Right-click to open it or close it.
  • If it's open, right-click a musician or a conductor to put them inside the briefcase and take them with you.
  • If it's closed and has an animal inside, right-click a block to release the animal there.

Sheet Music

These can be found especially in mineshafts, but they can also be found in buried treasures and regular dungeons.

What's going to be added next?

  • New animals with new songs.
  • New ways of obtaining a Sheet Music.
  • New way of making instruments using a new block.
  • New features for every animal to make them feel more unique.
  • Animal variants (like the Orchid Mantises and Grown Emperor Penguins).
  • Utilities and perks for playing different songs.
  • And more! (they'd be spoilers)

I'd also appreciate any sort of criticism. Please share your opinions, suggestions or any bugs that you find.
