Want more magical creatures to inhabit your world? This mod adds new variants of the Starbuncle, Drygmy, and Whirlisprig from Ars Nouveau to the world for ambience. These variants use their own customized models and behaviors and do not contain the functionality of the corresponding Ars Nouveau creatures. This mod does not require Ars Nouveau to function, but is meant to be used in conjunction with it in order to add additional flavor to the world.
Please Note: These variants are for ambience, have only very simple AI, and add no new functionality. This is my first attempt at 3d modeling and mod creation, so I am starting with simple mobs and adding from there.
Cloudbuncle - A neutral mob that spawns in mountainous areas. Don’t get too close or you might get zapped!
Sculkbuncle - A neutral mob found in the deep dark. Will shriek like a banshee if you approach it.
Frostbuncle - A neutral mob found in snowy/icy biomes. Can retaliate with snowballs if provoked.
Pyrobuncle - A neutral mob found in hot biomes. Can retaliate with fire charges if attacked.
Starbuncle swarm - A neutral mob that can spawn anywhere and loves gold nuggets - and might even reward you if you interact with it while carrying any.
Cavebuncle - A neutral mob that lives underground. Can retaliate with a poisonous bite when provoked.
Enderbuncle - A neutral mob found in the end. Can teleport.
Seabuncle - A passive aquatic mob that spawns in non cold oceans and rivers. Loves to collect shells.
Shellbuncle - An armored version of a Seabuncle that can hurl tridents to defend itself.
Sandbuncle - A passive mob that spawns in deserts. Hides in the sand and does cactus damage if touched.
Goobuncle - A passive mob that spawns in swampy biomes, and occasionally poops out slimeballs.
Skelebuncle - A hostile mob that spawns at night and underground. Vulnerable to the sun.
Zombuncle - A hostile mob that spawns at night and underground. Vulnerable to the sun.
Vexbuncle - A hostile, ghostly flying mob that spawns in Dark Forests.
Eyebuncle - A dangerous, but thankfully rare, hostile mob that spawns deep underground. Attacks with eye beams that produce random effects. Very deadly, even for the well prepared.
Shadowbuncle - A hostile mob that lives underground and inflicts wither with its attacks. Incomplete.
Giant Carnivorous Starbuncle - A large hostile mob that will attack everything in reach.
Dark Drygmy - A hostile mob that lives underground and attacks with debuffing attacks from a distance.
Chefbuncle - a passive mob that spawns in the overworld and loves to prepare food.
Songbuncle - A passive mob that spawns in the overworld and loves music. Plays a little ditty from FFVII when interacted with.
Tentabuncle - A dangerous hostile mob that lives deep underground.
Illusibuncle - A dangerous mob that lives deep underground, isn't what it seems, and loves salmon.
Deepsprig - Fungus themed Whirlisprig that lives underground and cultivates fungus.
Seasprig - Aquatic themed Whirlisprig that lives in the ocean.
Thornsprig - Hostile Whirlisprig that defends the forests and attacks with poison. Will show mercy to those who give back to the forest.
Faebuncle - A passive mob that flutters about in areas with lots of flowers.
Recent Changes:
- initial port to 1.21.1
There may be new bugs introduced in the process of porting to 1.21.1. Please let me know if you come across problems.
Known issues with 1.21.1 port:
- Starbuncle Swarms do not accept gold nuggets as they should
- Deepsprigs do not convert blocks to mycelium
- Thornsprig spawning temporarily disabled due to crashing bug (enabled via a workaround in Ars Expeditions, but not in base mod)
- minor animation issues
