Project T.A.G.S. (T.A.G.S.: Auxiliary Guidance System) is a mod that was born in collaboration with the Minecraft Pack Development Discord server and acts as a bridge between the game and the Project T.A.G.S. Repository.
This allows modpack makers to specify in a very easy-to-use and easy-to-write set of JSON files tags that will then be shown under the item's tooltip. These tags can range from useful tips (e.g. #EarlyGame) to full blown out categories (e.g. #ItemTransport), and all allow fine tuning. Feel free to join our Discord server for more information on how to set up tags or just to have a chat.
Moreover, Project T.A.G.S. is supposed to be a collective effort, meaning that everybody is welcomed to contribute to the official repository and get their changes merged in. Once merged, these changes will be immediately synchronized across all modpacks (configurable), to ensure an always up-to-date experience. Pack makers may also choose to host their own repository instead of using the default one, if they so choose, even if this is discouraged.
NOTE:
This mod has a builtin update checker that queries the official tags repository (linked above and below this text), so that it can keep the tag database always up-to-date. You (or the pack maker) can disable this in the configuration file!
