This mod is inspired by the chinese web novel "Lord of Mysteries". This does not, however, mean that this is trying to be a 1:1 recreation of its powers system, but rather an adapted version of it, designed for minecraft survival, for both single and multiplayer. Every pathway and sequence was designed to work in minecraft and every single one will become overpowered at higher levels.
As for now, the mod is INCOMPLETE. You can help development by pointing out bugs and suggesting features.
What i will not do:
- change versions
- change modloaders
- make custom versions for anyone
- among other stuff.
How the mod works:
A potion cauldron can be crafted with 2 sapphires and 5 iron ingots like so:
To concoct a potion, you need to add the necessary ingredients to the cauldron. If you add more they will disappear. If you make 2 potions at once you will get a bad result.
Potion formulas can be found in chests in the overworld. Once you find one, you can interpret it to concoct your first potion.
Be warned: when drinking a potion you will face a minigame. It will be refined in the future, but for now its sudden, so if you're not ready you will waste the potion.
Also, drinking a potion when you're of a different pathway will kill you.
There are currently 5 pathways in the game, and so far, only each pathway's sequence 9 have been added. These include:
Wheel of Fortune pathway, Sequence 9 Miner:
Has 3 abilities: Mining speed increase (scales with sequence), conjuring a pickaxe and creating a light source (as of now, the light source block has no model)
Tyrant pathway, Sequence 9 Swimmer:
Has 1 ability: Water affinity, granting the user extra swim speed, night vision, water breathing, underwater mining and walking debuff removal, and if youre missing health or hunger, it will also replenish them.
Mystery pathway, Sequence 9 Trickmaster:
Has 4 abilities: Invisibility, Door opening, allowing the user to teleport through some walls (thickness scales with sequence), extended reach and regeneration on damage, that is, when dealing damage, you will regenerate HP and spirituality.
Red Priest pathway, Sequence 9 Warrior:
Has 1 ability: Weapon proficiency. When dealing damage, you will deal more damage (scaling with sequence level) if using a tool or weapon.
Paragon pathway, Sequence 9 Crafter:
Has 2 abilities: Durability regen, regenerating the durability of the tools in your main and off hand, as well as Crafting GUI, which opens the crafting GUI, and on top of that, you get bonus crafting results. Both abilities scale with sequence levels.
To use abilities, you press ALT to bring up the ability hotbar (reconfigurable) and use the mouse to cast the ability you want. Pressing R (reconfigurable) will cast the last selected / last used ability.
You can assign a sequence to you by using the command /beyonder set ID, where ID corresponds to the ID of the sequence. That id is the sequence level + the unique id of the pathway (0 for WoF, 10 for Tyrant, 20 for Mystery, 30 for RP and 40 for Paragon), so if you want to become a Sequence 9 Warrior, you'd do /beyonder set 39.
You can also generate a specific formula by using the command /formula generate ID, where ID follows the rules above.
You can use the command /beyonder reset to reset your beyonder powers back to a normal person.
There are currently 2 mobs added:
- The Chryon spawns in icy biomes and is rather formidable. Doesn't drop anything yet and has no purpose.
- Pecan spawns in forestry biomes and runs away from players. It drops its leaf and shell, used in a few potions.
The wandering cactus is not yet in the game but its drops are. As such, if a formula asks for its drops you have to cheat them in.
The Wandering Cactus Sap can be obtained by concocting it in a cauldron. The formula for it can be crafter with paper and a Wandering Cactus Prick in the crafting table. This is how you craft a vial and a flask.
The Solseer is also not in the game yet, but can be used for formulas.
This mod is now in Beta, which means feedback and bug reporting are very welcome, and that this is a representative look at what the mod will be like when completed. If you think something should be changed, or have any suggestions to make this mod more fun, please point it out. Ability ideas are more than welcome.
