Daybreak: Fear The Light is a mod that adds the SCP-001 Event, more commonly known as "When Day Breaks".

3 days into your world, the Sun will turn the sky into a bright orange, and it will cast deadly rays of light that burn, liquefy, and boil anything they touch.

Mobs in direct sunlight will not just burn, but will be melted into horrifying amalgamations of their former selves, that are hostile to all life. These mobs also have the ability to merge into large biomasses of creatures.

 

Protect yourself from the sunlight using whatever means nessecary. Armor does not nullify damage, but heavily reduces amount of damage taken from the sun.

 

Mobs

  • Daybroken Human: Villagers, players, zombies, and other humanoids that have succumbed to the sun's deadly rays. Has the ability to leap.
  • Daybroken Animal: Most medium animals that have succumbed to the sun's deadly rays. Can breach shields.
  • Daybroken Large Animal: Horses, donkeys, Llamas, and other large animals that have succumbed to the sun's deadly rays. Can launch you high into the air.
  • Daybroken Enderman: Endermen that succumb to the sun's deadly rays. Can teleport, both themselves and other melted in order to swarm you.
  • Bruiser: Tier 2 mob. Can leap great distances, break blocks, and use their long appendages to hit you.
  • Bomber: Tier 2 mob. Flies, and periodically drops bombs on you while hovering just out of melee range. Bow recommended.
  • Transporter: Tier 2 mob, the only one that can't break blocks. Acts like the Daybroken Enderman, but can teleport up to 3 mobs at a time, and can teleport a lot more frequently.
  • Fleshling: Only spawns when a Tier 1 and above mob is killed.

 

All mobs are immune to fire.

 

Roadmap (planned features)

  • Weakness to cold
  • Many more Daybroken mobs, such as the Creeper, Spider, and Squid
  • Many more Tier 2 mobs
  • Tier 3 mobs
  • Tree and plant decay mechanic
  • "Solar Resistance" and "Solar Protection" potion and enchantments
  • A way to temporarily stop the Daybreak event for some time
