NPCs can do a few tasks, carry items for you, follow you around and use Electroblob's Wizardry spells, etc. They can also use most of the artefacts

Apprentice talent - Conduit

Each apprentice has one unique talent, which is unlocked after they reach level 15

Wizard Apprentices can learn spells and level up over time

NPC Adventuring

You can send your apprentices on adventures - they'll either return with treasures, nothing at all or die as a hero!
